Unilever required a world class food research facility together with a requirement for fast-track completion and supplementation of in-house management skills. The solution to meeting these client challenges was to establish a design competition to select experienced, industry-specific designers with innovation and flair and to procure the works via construction management.
This project was the major part of a much wider site development plan including road, gate house, infrastructure changes and other consequential works. BPP set-up and managed the initial design competition, procurement of architects, engineers and Construction Managers, together with procurement of all the works packages in addition to normal quantity surveying services. BPP also sat on the Clients steering group to provide strategic guidance on the site development.
